“Better, Ms. Spencer?”
As I look up, his eyes lock with mine, and for the second time today I unravel. His draw is all consuming, like he’s intent on claiming all of me, and as the world starts to fade I don’t care. All I want is crouched in front of me: amber eyes piercing, hypnotic, willing me to be his.
Forever.

Synopsis:
22-year-old Bree Spencer hates prejudice of all kinds – especially the blatant elitism she's subjected to as a resident staffer at her aunt’s exclusive estate, Blackall Manor. So when Bree nearly winds up as road-kill on account of the wealthy Sebastian Templeton, she struggles to reconcile her attraction to him. On the surface Sebastian represents everything Bree despises, yet her draw to him is irrefutable.
Events become decidedly more unusual upon Sebastian’s arrival as a guest at Blackall Manor. Despite her reservations, Bree finds Sebastian intriguing; but his insistence to get to know her triggers a raft of niggling suspicions – heightened by a series of strange dreams and phenomena – until eventually, she learns the truth.
Sebastian is a Guardian, a powerful descendant of a sacred Ethereal line; and Bree’s uncanny gift has prompted him to find her. But while an anomaly inspired their connection, an ancient prophecy and Ethereal lore forbid it. And with Sebastian’s purist brother determined to honour both at any cost, an epic battle with unthinkable stakes could be Bree’s only chance at survival.

Anomaly, K C King

Engaging and intriging are the first words that spring to mind when considering this book. The story moves at a good pace and the reader is eager to reach the next chapter. The characters are strong and by the end of the book you feel as though you really know them. If time had allowed, once I got hooked by the story I could have read it in one sitting because you just had to know what the outcome was to be. I will certainly purchase book two and look forward to where the story will lead me. Read this book, you will not be disappointed.

A Good Paranormal Romance Book
By My name is June
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Ms King sure used many big words throughout the book which was refreshing as this is not the norm for other paranormal romance books that I've read to date (and I read quite alot of them). Her vivid imagination was captured in her book quite well. And because the book was set in Australia, I just loved it! As an Aussie, I am familiar with the geography of this book (for once) and now I really want to visit Cape Schanck (I only went out to Mornington Peninsula, not Cape Schanck).
Anyway, getting back to the book, I really liked Bree and Sebastian. There were twists and turns throughout the book and I liked how her 'power' developed throughout the book. And Sebastian is so sweet. The book flowed smoothly and everything made sense. The book was also fast-paced which was great.
I just started the 2nd book and I'm quite addicted to the series already. Well done Ms King.

There was a lot of criticism about the big words that were used which I found kind of embarrassing. Its embarrassing to think that literate people would be frightened of big words. I found the alternate universe theories interesting. There were themes of Buddhism and new age which are, I believe the inspiration of the other world. Anyway, it reminds me of the themes the author used. I only reserve five stars for the greatest books I have ever read. It was an interesting story. Another description or phrase that comes to mind "Ye Shall be as gods."
